Okay... getting started is the hardest part, right? So I'll try to make this, our first blog entry, a bit easier by beginning with an introduction. We are a group of Realtors who have defined our market niche and are working hard to become the premiere group associated with this niche within our market area.
Carving out this niche wasn't easy. It required a lot of time, study, market analysis, personal dedication and expense on each of our parts. And we're learning more every day. Meanwhile, we'd like to share with you what we've learned and, hopefully, learn more from you in return. We're "Your Traditional Neighborhood Specialists."
Our study and analysis indicated that, throughout the U.S., as in our market area, Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TND) are a burgeoning trend. In fact, the trend seems to be growing worldwide!
"The Town Paper,"an online publication dedicated to education and promotion of TNDs - thy also call it the "new urbanism" - lists over 240 Traditional Neighborhood developments existing in 41 States, and an additional 53 in other countries around the world. I'm sure "The Town Paper"doesn't have all existing TNDs listed, but those they have surely indicates a market trend to us. It's a trend we're excited about, one we believe in, and one we've chosen to become an integral part of.
That's what this blog is all about... Traditional Neighborhood Developments... what they are, and how we believe they fit in with Real Estate development, marketing and sales today and into the future.
In this blog we hope to interest, inform, educate and maybe even inspire you about TNDs. But we also hope to share information, comments and questions. As I said, we're still learning too.
To begin, let me introduce "Your Traditional Neighborhood Specialists." I'm Bill Blair. I took early retirement from a long career in corporate sales and Public Relations, and started a sports marketing company where I developed and implemented marketing programs for worldwide corporate Olympic Games sponsors. I'm now on my third career, one in Real Estate. I live in a Traditional Neighborhood development, Clark's Grove, in the beautiful, historic town where I grew up, Covington, Georgia.
My partners are Pamela Bunn, Lou Anne Genadry, Lori Krieger and our licensed office manager, Teresa Gordy. Pam, too, had a corporate management career before becoming a Realtor. Lou Anne sold mutual funds for large financial houses before getting her Real Estate license. Lori owned a catering business, then sold Real Etstae advertising before becoming a Realtor. And Teresa worked in furniture manufacturing and was a juvenile court officer before becoming licensed in real Estate. Pretty varied backgrounds! But it seems to work for us.
Introductions now aside, we're excited to be a part of this community, and look forward to learning together and sharing information with everyone.
